You can draft well and still miss the point. The Rams did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

On the needs board they went 1 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
