Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B

More right than wrong for the Eagles, and a B to prove it.

The Eagles clearly saw something nobody else did in Jalen Travis, taking him 123 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

The Knight Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the Round 1 slot they get a mismatch in the passing game, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 JT Tuimoloau
A slide stopped in slot 64, with JT Tuimoloau worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick96 Rnd3 Demetrius Knight Jr.
Taking Demetrius Knight Jr. in pick 96 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jamaree Caldwell
Nothing to complain about; Jamaree Caldwell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jonas Sanker
Circle this one: Jonas Sanker at Round 5, Pick 23 is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick164 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
O'Donnell Fortune at pick No. 164 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick165 Rnd5 Jalen Travis
Jalen Travis in pick 165 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick168 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the 168th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
