Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
The Eagles checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jalen Travis at pick No. 168 is 119 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Carter falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In slot 32 they get a centerfielder for the defense, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Maxwell Hairston
They paid up for Maxwell Hairston at pick 64 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick134 Rnd4 Riley Leonard
A tidy little value on Riley Leonard in the 134th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick161 Rnd5 Fadil Diggs
Fadil Diggs at Round 5, Pick 23 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick164 Rnd5 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse at the 164th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick165 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
A real head-scratcher, Oronde Gadsden II in Round 5, Pick 27 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick168 Rnd5 Jalen Travis
They talked themselves into Jalen Travis at pick 168, and the board did not agree. The roster fit checks out.
Pick246 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
Value said wait; Garrett Dellinger in pick No. 246 says they were not listening. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
