Larceny in the 134th overall pick lands the Bills a B, Rice and all. You could see the war room lean forward. Brenden Rice at pick No. 134 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Troy Franklin
In No. 28 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick60
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
They paid sticker price for Braden Fiske in Round 2, Pick 28, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick128
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Somehow Khyree Jackson was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick134
Rnd4
Brenden Rice
Steal is underselling it; Brenden Rice at pick No. 134 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
They did well to land Jaylin Simpson in pick 144, just ahead of his grade. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick160
Rnd5
Isaiah Davis
Good price on Isaiah Davis in the 160th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick163
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kitan Oladapo at slot 163 is the proof. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick189
Rnd6
Layden Robinson
Layden Robinson is a better player than the 189th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick200
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
They took Joe Milton III at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick204
Rnd6
Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at No. 204 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick248
Rnd7
Nathan Thomas
They barely believed it either: Nathan Thomas still on the board at the 248th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
