Draft Grade — Bills
Overall C+
ValueC- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Bills: C+.

The war room fell hard for Elijah Roberts, and it showed at Round 4, Pick 30: 51 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Maxwell Hairston
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary, a steep price for the projection. Need was not the driver here.
Pick56 Rnd2 Wyatt Milum
Wyatt Milum in pick No. 56 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick62 Rnd2 Carson Schwesinger
The board had cheaper options than Carson Schwesinger at the 62nd overall pick, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick109 Rnd4 Ty Hamilton
Ty Hamilton in the 109th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick132 Rnd4 Elijah Roberts
This one needs a full-page explanation: Elijah Roberts in slot 132, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick169 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
A straight-up fair deal on Jonah Monheim at pick 169, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick170 Rnd5 Connor Colby
They paid a round early for Connor Colby in No. 170, more than the board wanted. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick173 Rnd5 Jake Briningstool
Jake Briningstool at the 173rd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick177 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They went early on Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick 177, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick206 Rnd6 Maxen Hook
By-the-book stuff, Maxen Hook at pick No. 206 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
