Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B-

FutureB+
More right than wrong for the Cardinals, and a B- to prove it. The Cardinals spent real capital to be 42 picks early on Bralen Trice, and the board is going to hold them to it.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The veteran additions, Tyler Allgeier chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Nate Wiggins
In No. 8 they get an island corner, even if it was a touch early. Need was not the driver here.
Pick27
Rnd1
Bralen Trice
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a double-digit-sack hope, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
A big swing on Xavier Worthy at slot 35, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick71
Rnd3
Blake Corum
Blake Corum at pick 71 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick90
Rnd3
Gabriel Murphy
No edge and no loss on Gabriel Murphy in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
