Draft Grade — Cardinals

FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cardinals and White: B. You build a draft on nights like this. Ricky White had no business being available in Round 7, Pick 4, and the Cardinals did the only sane thing and turned in the card. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They are betting Hartman proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Joe Alt
In the 3rd overall pick they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick17
Rnd1
Jer'Zhan Newton
In pick 17 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick35
Rnd2
Terrion Arnold
Nothing to complain about; Terrion Arnold went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jermaine Burton
Fair-plus on Jermaine Burton, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick73
Rnd3
Kris Jenkins
They read the board right and Kris Jenkins was the payoff at pick No. 73. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick81
Rnd3
Marist Liufau
They paid sticker price for Marist Liufau in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick103
Rnd4
Donovan Edwards
Donovan Edwards in the 103rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick133
Rnd4
Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer in Round 4, Pick 33 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick140
Rnd5
Malik Mustapha
A straight-up fair deal on Malik Mustapha at pick 140, value and slot in agreement. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick165
Rnd5
T.J. Sanders
A reach on T.J. Sanders in slot 165; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
Pick198
Rnd6
Jacob Cowing
Value with a capital V on Jacob Cowing in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick224
Rnd7
Ricky White
They robbed the room for Ricky White here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick238
Rnd7
Sam Hartman
Sam Hartman in the 238th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
