Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Packers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most.

The Baker steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will need Flax to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Nubin
In slot 25 they get a two-high chess piece at fair value.
Pick41 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul at pick No. 41 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
Pick57 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
By-the-book stuff, T'Vondre Sweat at the 57th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick88 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cooper Beebe at No. 88 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 Audric Estime
Audric Estime at Round 3, Pick 28 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick126 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
A clean, defensible pick in pick 126 with a little surplus value in Kris Abrams-Draine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick168 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
No drama and no debate, Kitan Oladapo went about where he belonged in the 168th pick. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick203 Rnd6 Javon Baker
Javon Baker slipping to the Round 6 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee at the 216th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick243 Rnd7 Jeremy Flax
They paid up for Jeremy Flax at slot 243 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick251 Rnd7 Sheridan Jones
Sheridan Jones slid further than he should have, and pick 251 is lovely value for the cornerback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
