Cp DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers

FutureB-
A passer of the future in Sellers, and a B-, for the Steelers. The Steelers spent the pick that matters most on LaNorris Sellers, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Landing Campbell that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Every board in the league had Fite lower, and that gap is the story. They will answer for taking offensive lineman early while edge rusher and cornerback went begging.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
LaNorris Sellers
In the 14th pick they get a franchise quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46
Rnd2
Trevor Goosby
Trevor Goosby at No. 46 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick73
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
A reach on Zakee Wheatley in the Round 3 slot; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick78
Rnd3
C.J. Fite
A big swing on C.J. Fite at Round 3, Pick 14, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick98
Rnd3
Cayden Green
A surprising call. With edge rusher and cornerback still to address, they spent the 98th overall pick on Cayden Green, an offensive lineman they were not short of.
Pick114
Rnd4
Jaydn Ott
Jaydn Ott in pick 114 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick133
Rnd4
Bryce Boettcher
They liked Bryce Boettcher enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 133. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick153
Rnd5
DeAndre Moore Jr.
DeAndre Moore Jr. at slot 153 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick176
Rnd5
Jamal Haynes
A conviction pick on Jamal Haynes at No. 176 that the board grades a round light. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick192
Rnd6
Amare Campbell
Circle this one: Amare Campbell at Round 6, Pick 16 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick211
Rnd6
Shamar Easter
Shamar Easter at pick No. 211 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick227
Rnd7
Miller Moss
Miller Moss in the 227th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
