Draft Grade — Colts
Overall

The Colts did enough to get by: C+. The tape said wait; the Colts did not. Jordan Strachan went at the Round 7 slot, a good 111 picks before the board was ready. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
If Quinyon Mitchell and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In No. 15 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick46
Rnd2
Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall at pick 46 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82
Rnd3
Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson at slot 82 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick117
Rnd4
James Williams
They paid sticker price for James Williams in pick No. 117, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick151
Rnd5
Sione Vaki
No edge and no loss on Sione Vaki in the 151st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick191
Rnd6
Kendall Milton
A conviction pick on Kendall Milton at the 191st overall pick that the board grades a round light. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick234
Rnd7
Jordan Strachan
Jordan Strachan at Round 7, Pick 14 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
