Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Colts kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Jackson Slater in pick No. 117, a good 35 spots before the room expected him. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Pierce makes the weekend a net positive.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a mismatch in the passing game at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick45 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at slot 45 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick94 Rnd3 Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander in the 94th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick104 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Lathan Ransom. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jackson Slater
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jackson Slater in No. 117, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick151 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce is a better player than pick 151 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick189 Rnd6 CJ West
CJ West at Round 6, Pick 13 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick200 Rnd6 Tahj Brooks
By-the-book stuff, Tahj Brooks at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick232 Rnd7 Bilhal Kone
Bilhal Kone at the 232nd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick255 Rnd7 Theo Wease Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in the 255th pick with a little surplus value in Theo Wease Jr.. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
