Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Commanders a B-.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Commanders would have aced it. Davin Vann at the 245th pick is 33 spots clear of where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. However the rest shakes out, Johnson at that price is a win they earned.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
In the 29th overall pick they get a three-down second-level presence. Need was not the driver here.
Pick61 Rnd2 Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson at slot 61 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
Pick128 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
The board had Anthony Belton higher than the Round 4 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205 Rnd6 Kobe Hudson
Kobe Hudson at Round 6, Pick 29 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick245 Rnd7 Davin Vann
A big swing on Davin Vann at pick 245, well ahead of any board in the building. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
