You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Tim Keenan III in No. 123. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Lew. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
