Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureD-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Commanders and Fitzgerald: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Ryan Fitzgerald at pick No. 250 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The bottom line is a respectable B.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka at the 37th overall pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick61 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
Azareye'h Thomas in No. 61 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick103 Rnd4 Kaleb Johnson
Circle this one: Kaleb Johnson at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick148 Rnd5 Barrett Carter
They robbed the room for Barrett Carter here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick207 Rnd6 Connor Colby
They will replay Connor Colby at pick No. 207 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick238 Rnd7 Miles Frazier
They let Miles Frazier come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 22. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick250 Rnd7 Ryan Fitzgerald
Ryan Fitzgerald in the 250th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
