Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Kobe King got past him. The Commanders do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 238. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Commanders clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
