Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall

The Commanders won the night they stopped Horton from sliding. Grade: B. When a board-topper like Tory Horton slides to the 140th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Commanders did not. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Porter left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
The board had Mykel Williams higher than the Round 1 slot, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick61
Rnd2
Darien Porter
Darien Porter at slot 61 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick140
Rnd5
Tory Horton
Tory Horton in the 140th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick163
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten in pick 163 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick248
Rnd7
Jaylin Smith
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaylin Smith. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
