Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall D
ValueC NeedB TradesF FutureA
The Broncos lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Broncos spent pick No. 198 on Aki Ogunbiyi, a name the board had a full 55 spots lower.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
Fair-plus on T'Vondre Sweat, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick35 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean at pick 35 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick80 Rnd3 Michael Pratt
A conviction pick on Michael Pratt at the 80th overall pick that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick102 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
They talked themselves into Cole Bishop at No. 102, and the board did not agree. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick116 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
Value said wait; Cedric Gray in pick No. 116 says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick125 Rnd4 Gabriel Murphy
They reached into another round for Gabriel Murphy, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick133 Rnd4 Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker at the 133rd overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick198 Rnd6 Aki Ogunbiyi
Aki Ogunbiyi at pick 198 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
