Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureB-
The Bills robbed the room for Jones. Final grade: B. You could see the war room lean forward. Christian Jones at the 246th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Troy Franklin
In the Round 1 slot they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
They took T'Vondre Sweat at par in the 60th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick99
Rnd3
Tyler Davis
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyler Davis in pick No. 99. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick129
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at pick 129 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick159
Rnd5
Kamal Hadden
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Kamal Hadden in the 159th pick, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick162
Rnd5
Braelon Allen
Nothing to complain about; Braelon Allen went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick198
Rnd6
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten in slot 198 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick202
Rnd6
Michael Barrett
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Michael Barrett in No. 202. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick206
Rnd6
Bub Means
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bub Means at the 206th overall pick is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick246
Rnd7
Christian Jones
Christian Jones in pick No. 246 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
