Nobody had J.J. Weaver this high, and it is not close. The Giants reached 174 spots to get him at Round 7, Pick 3. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They banked enough surplus on Thornton Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. Blake Brandel gives the group a proven body among the projects.
