Bullet44 DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns

Draft Grade — Browns
Overall

ValueB

TradesA+
FutureA+
The Browns worked the phones like thieves and earned a A. The Tyler Batty pick is the one that will follow the Browns into the fall. They took him 47 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That Warren pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Adding Tyler Smith by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Ashton Jeanty and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
They let Ashton Jeanty come to them and pounced at the 14th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick33
Rnd2
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at slot 33 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick44
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Somehow Tyler Warren was still sitting there in pick No. 44, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick67
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and TreVeyon Henderson at pick 67 is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick76
Rnd3
Cameron Williams
A clean, defensible pick in Round 3, Pick 12 with a little surplus value in Cameron Williams. It fills a real need, too.
Pick94
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
A tidy bit of business in the Round 3 slot, where Ozzy Trapilo graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick104
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. at No. 104 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick117
Rnd4
Will Howard
They read the board right and Will Howard was the payoff at slot 117. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick179
Rnd6
CJ West
CJ West in the 179th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick192
Rnd6
Tyler Batty
They talked themselves into Tyler Batty at the 192nd overall pick, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick200
Rnd6
Upton Stout
Value with a capital V on Upton Stout in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216
Rnd6
Carson Vinson
A conviction pick on Carson Vinson at pick No. 216 that the board grades a round light. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick255
Rnd7
Ty Hamilton
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ty Hamilton. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
