The Dolphins looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Maliq Carr at slot 224 regardless, 152 picks early. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Spending an early pick on safety with wide receiver, edge rusher and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Starks.

A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
