Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Rams were there to profit. Barrett Carter, the No. 79 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 3, Pick 37.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
