Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Fitzgerald from sliding. Grade: B-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Ryan Fitzgerald tumbling to the Seahawks in pick 234 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They will need Griffith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Mike Green
In the 18th pick they get a premier pass rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
They talked themselves into Donovan Jackson at pick 50, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82 Rnd3 Harold Fannin Jr.
Taking Harold Fannin Jr. in pick No. 82 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick136 Rnd4 Ricky White III
A real head-scratcher, Ricky White III in No. 136 is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick171 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
They will replay Cam Skattebo at slot 171 for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
Pick183 Rnd6 Jake Majors
Circle this one: Jake Majors at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick210 Rnd6 Thor Griffith
They reached into another round for Thor Griffith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick234 Rnd7 Ryan Fitzgerald
They barely believed it either: Ryan Fitzgerald still on the board at the 234th overall pick. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
