The Patriots let Edwards fall into their laps, and walked away with a C.

Thirty-one other rooms let Donovan Edwards slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at Round 7, Pick 4. Highway robbery. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Mbow left real value on the table behind him. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
