Giddens should have been long gone. The Jets pounced, and earned a B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Jets watched DJ Giddens slide 32 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Grant left real value on the table behind him.

Jonathan Mingo gives the group a proven body among the projects.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
