Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureA
McCord should have been long gone. The Jets pounced, and earned a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Kyle McCord tumbling to the Jets in the 145th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Jets indulged a want in Ferguson while a need in edge rusher and running back stayed open.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Walter Nolen
In the 22nd pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick42 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
A slide stopped in slot 42, with Emeka Egbuka worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick55 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 55 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick73 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at No. 73 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick110 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Terrance Ferguson at tight end with edge rusher and running back open.
Pick145 Rnd5 Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord in the 145th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick162 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley in Round 5, Pick 24 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick186 Rnd6 Chase Lundt
The board had Chase Lundt higher than the Round 6 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick207 Rnd6 Upton Stout
A tidy bit of business in pick 207, where Upton Stout graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
