Some hits, some head-scratchers, and a C- for the Packers.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 299 spots for Jake Smith, and value like that does not grow back. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C- in the wash.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. However the rest shakes out, Marshall Jr. at that price is a win they earned. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

So much rides on Amari Kight that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Amari Kight
In pick 23 they get a long-term starter on the line, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Pick54 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts slipping to the 54th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jake Smith
Jake Smith in Round 3, Pick 23 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick123 Rnd4 LeQuint Allen
A conviction pick on LeQuint Allen at slot 123 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick160 Rnd5 Torricelli Simpkins III
Torricelli Simpkins III at the 160th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jason Marshall Jr.
They read the board right and Jason Marshall Jr. was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick239 Rnd7 Bryson Nesbit
Value said wait; Bryson Nesbit in pick 239 says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick251 Rnd7 Keenan Pili
They reached a country mile for Keenan Pili at Round 7, Pick 33, and the board is aghast. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
