Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall C-
ValueF NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly executed. Seahawks: C-.

Nobody else had Deshawn Pace anywhere near the 173rd overall pick. The Seahawks did, by 260 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Landing Warren that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

If Ollie Gordon II and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Ollie Gordon II
In No. 18 they get a centerpiece for the ground game, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Pick50 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
They will replay Tyler Warren at the 50th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
Pick82 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
No edge and no loss on Carson Schwesinger in the 82nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick137 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
Hollin Pierce at Round 4, Pick 36 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick173 Rnd5 Deshawn Pace
Deshawn Pace at pick No. 173 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick187 Rnd6 LaJohntay Wester
A wild overpay on LaJohntay Wester in the Round 6 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick212 Rnd6 Donovan Smith
This one needs a full-page explanation: Donovan Smith in slot 212, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick236 Rnd7 Tyler Loop
They left a pile of value on the table to take Tyler Loop this early at the 236th overall pick. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
