The real work happened on the phones. The Steelers fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.

On value alone, Pearsall makes the weekend a net positive. If Jackson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is not that Van Pran is a bad player; it is that the Steelers had louder needs to answer first.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
