The 49ers torched the value chart for Teddye Buchanan, taking him 98 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Edwards falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
