The Giants spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Tez Johnson, the No. 89 name on the board, in pick No. 229. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

The Webb reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Whatever Shedeur Sanders becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
