Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Ainias Smith got past him. The Commanders do not have to explain a thing at the Round 6 slot. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
