A sensible, unshowy class lands the Eagles a B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Eagles reached some 42 spots for Carson Steele, and value like that does not grow back. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

Benson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Xavier Worthy at Round 2, Pick 18 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Good price on Jonah Elliss in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

They barely believed it either: Trey Benson still on the board at the 97th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
