The Tommy Mellott selection is the head-turner. The Eagles reached 145 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The Winston Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
