Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall

FutureB
Best value of the weekend goes to the Eagles for Strong: D. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Antwane Wells Jr. at the 164th overall pick, a reach of 32 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Strong at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, and a steal at that.
Pick64
Rnd2
Donovan Jackson
No drama and no debate, Donovan Jackson went about where he belonged in No. 64. The roster fit checks out.
Pick72
Rnd3
Mason Taylor
By-the-book stuff, Mason Taylor at pick 72 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick96
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Darius Alexander. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick134
Rnd4
Billy Bowman Jr.
They will replay Billy Bowman Jr. at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick164
Rnd5
Antwane Wells Jr.
A big swing on Antwane Wells Jr. at pick 164, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick165
Rnd5
Que Robinson
Que Robinson at pick No. 165 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick168
Rnd5
Dorian Strong
They robbed the room for Dorian Strong here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
