Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Ravens a B.

The Ravens clearly saw something nobody else did in Kobe Hudson, taking him 78 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Sauls at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
In the 27th pick they get a lockdown presence outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick59 Rnd2 Kaleb Johnson
Value with a capital V on Kaleb Johnson in slot 59, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick91 Rnd3 Elijah Arroyo
They barely believed it either: Elijah Arroyo still on the board at the 91st overall pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick129 Rnd4 Aeneas Peebles
A conviction pick on Aeneas Peebles at pick 129 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick136 Rnd4 Kobe Hudson
Kobe Hudson at Round 4, Pick 34 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick176 Rnd5 Jack Nelson
They paid sticker price for Jack Nelson in pick No. 176, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick183 Rnd6 Ben Sauls
Ben Sauls in the 183rd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick203 Rnd6 Tyler Cooper
A tidy little value on Tyler Cooper in No. 203, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick210 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jay Higgins in slot 210. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick212 Rnd6 Caleb Ransaw
Good price on Caleb Ransaw in pick 212, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick243 Rnd7 Cam Jackson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cam Jackson at the 243rd pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
