Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Titans answered their biggest question with Ward. Grade: B-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Titans spent their marquee pick on Cam Ward, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

Getting Simon where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Reaching for Baron left real value on the table behind him.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the 1st overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Good price on Emeka Egbuka in slot 35, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick103 Rnd4 Charles Grant
They read the board right and Charles Grant was the payoff at pick 103. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jamaree Caldwell
They went early on Jamaree Caldwell in pick No. 120, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick141 Rnd5 Tyler Baron
A premium they did not need to pay, Tyler Baron a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick167 Rnd5 Cody Simon
Cody Simon in the 167th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick178 Rnd6 Connor Colby
Connor Colby at Round 6, Pick 2 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick188 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed in No. 188 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
