The Saints treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 4 slot on Dont'e Thornton Jr. a full 58 spots early. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Landing Styles that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
