Grand theft in No. 223: the Commanders steal Cowing and grade out a A-.

When a board-topper like Jacob Cowing slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Commanders did not.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

They are betting Ratledge proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Adding Asante Samuel Jr. by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
