Larceny in the 58th pick lands the 49ers a B-, Ramsey and all.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The 49ers never addressed running back, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.

However the rest shakes out, Ramsey at that price is a win they earned. Lomu has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In pick 27 they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kamari Ramsey
They will replay Kamari Ramsey at Round 2, Pick 26 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick92 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. in slot 92 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick127 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge at No. 127 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick133 Rnd4 DeMonte Capehart
They took DeMonte Capehart at par in pick No. 133, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick138 Rnd4 Kyle Louis
No edge and no loss on Kyle Louis in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jermaine Mathews Jr.
Nice patience on Jermaine Mathews Jr., who had no business lasting to the Round 5 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
