Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall

ValueB

FutureB
Daniels is the Falcons' new face under center. Grade: B+. After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Falcons committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
Polk falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
Reaching for Hall left real value on the table behind him. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Melton pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at running back, edge rusher and other spots.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick 10 they get the arm they will build around. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick43
Rnd2
Terrion Arnold
Steal is underselling it; Terrion Arnold at the Round 2 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick72
Rnd3
Max Melton
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Max Melton while clear needs at running back, edge rusher and other spots sat open.
Pick74
Rnd3
Kris Abrams-Draine
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending No. 74 on Kris Abrams-Draine with running back, edge rusher and other spots unsolved.
Pick87
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
By-the-book stuff, Jaden Hicks at pick No. 87 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick109
Rnd4
Ja'Lynn Polk
Ja'Lynn Polk in the 109th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick143
Rnd5
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten slid further than he should have, and slot 143 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick174
Rnd5
Dwight McGlothern
They let Dwight McGlothern come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 38. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick185
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
They reached a country mile for Jared Wiley at pick 185, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick187
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
Value said wait; Gabe Hall in pick No. 187 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick197
Rnd6
Johnny Dixon
Good price on Johnny Dixon in slot 197, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
