The Bears fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

They will need Velling to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They banked enough surplus on Haulcy to cover a lot of smaller sins.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Dion Dawkins gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
