Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Bears spent the 206th overall pick on Tre'Mon Morris-Brash, a name most had 195 spots down the list. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Solomon pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with cornerback and linebacker still on the board.

For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Adams pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
