Williams is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a C-.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

They banked enough surplus on Braswell to cover a lot of smaller sins. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The cost of the Johnson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
