Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a B for the Bears.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Davis has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. It is not that Smith is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Hicks falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
