The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: D-.

The Bears did not so much draft AJ Barner as overpay for him, 40 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Bears indulged a want in Solomon while a need in edge rusher stayed open.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Cooper.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
