There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bears started one anyway for AJ Barner, 40 picks ahead of schedule. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. So much rides on Caleb Williams that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Getting Williams where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
