Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall C
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The Dolphins cashed the board's mistake on McMillan: C.

You could see the war room lean forward. Tetairoa McMillan at the Round 2 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a C and check back in two years.

Jackson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Dolphins indulged a want in Parrish while a need in edge rusher stayed open.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In No. 17 they get a cornerstone up front at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 Tetairoa McMillan
Steal is underselling it; Tetairoa McMillan at slot 48 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick49 Rnd2 Trey Amos
They paid sticker price for Trey Amos in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick60 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Nice patience on Xavier Watts, who had no business lasting to the 60th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick98 Rnd3 Jacob Parrish
A want over a need in pick No. 98: Jacob Parrish adds a cornerback while edge rusher keeps waiting.
Pick102 Rnd3 Charles Grant
Charles Grant at the 102nd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick135 Rnd4 Kyle McCord
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kyle McCord at Round 4, Pick 33. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick150 Rnd5 Damien Martinez
No edge and no loss on Damien Martinez in pick 150; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick155 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
Nothing to complain about; O'Donnell Fortune went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick193 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
They went early on Nazir Stackhouse in pick 193, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick196 Rnd6 Cam Jackson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cam Jackson well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick224 Rnd7 Caleb Rogers
The board fumbled Caleb Rogers all the way to No. 224, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick231 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
Value said wait; Teddye Buchanan in Round 7, Pick 15 says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick253 Rnd7 Jackson Hawes
Jackson Hawes at pick No. 253 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
