The Broncos spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

The cost of the Duke reach is exactly the players who went right after him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through offensive lineman.

Getting Guerendo where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
