Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks robbed the room for Rourke. Final grade: B-.

The Seahawks spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Kurtis Rourke, the No. 140 name on the board, in pick 175. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Reaching for Restrepo left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
In the 18th pick they get a potential shutdown corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick50 Rnd2 Demetrius Knight Jr.
They jumped the gun on Demetrius Knight Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick52 Rnd2 Marcus Mbow
A straight-up fair deal on Marcus Mbow at the 52nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick82 Rnd3 Devin Neal
Devin Neal in pick No. 82 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick92 Rnd3 Xavier Restrepo
They went early on Xavier Restrepo in pick 92, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jamaree Caldwell
Jamaree Caldwell slipping to No. 137 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick172 Rnd5 Ajani Cornelius
No drama and no debate, Ajani Cornelius went about where he belonged in Round 5, Pick 34. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick175 Rnd5 Kurtis Rourke
Steal is underselling it; Kurtis Rourke at slot 175 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick223 Rnd7 Craig Woodson
Craig Woodson in pick No. 223 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick234 Rnd7 Ja'Corey Brooks
Ja'Corey Brooks at pick 234 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
